How it All Started…
It all began almost 900 years ago when Khmer King Suryavatman ll built Angkor Way around the year 1110 – 1150. It is the largest religious monument in the world and is an architectural masterpiece. Located in Siem Reap, Cambodia, this UNESCO World Heritage site was once the largest pre-industrial city in the world. It was built from sandstone blocks cut from Phnom Kuler Mountain, more than 50 miles away. The blocks were floated down the Siem Reap River on rafts. An estimated 300,000 laborers and 6,000 elephants were used in its construction.
